Academic research from a previous life.

In a previous life, I was interested in following an academic path — exploring quantum computing, cryptography, and condensed matter physics. Ultimately, I decided that solving practical problems was more in line with my interests, but the rigour and curiosity from that period still inform how I approach engineering today.

Master's thesis studying information leakage in quantum implementations of classical cryptographic primitives. Introduces the concepts of advantage and epsilon-embeddings, and demonstrates bounds on information leakage for quantum oblivious transfer protocols, improving on previously known lower bounds.

Quasiparticle Interference Patterns in a Topological Superconductor

Develops a theory of quasiparticle interference on the surface of a three-dimensional strong topological insulator with superconducting pairing. Analyzes scattering from magnetic and nonmagnetic impurities as well as vortex cores, showing how the Dirac cone structure suppresses backscattering and how doping leads to doubled constant-energy contours.
